About Seankeith Chan
Greetings! My name is Seankeith Chan.
I was born and raised in Southwest Washington. I graduated high school in 2020, and after turning away from college, I am exploring different interests and options of mine.
I am currently working at my family’s restaurant. I serve tables, clean up, prepare the front of the house for tomorrow, and do anything else that I can to help our business continue onward. In the past, I have worked with Beacock Music to help students and parents rent their first instrument by meticulously filling out rental forms and giving them everything they needed. I also worked at a local fast food chain, where I prepared food as fast yet as accurately as I could and set others up for success the next day.
To broaden my horizons, I am currently learning Latin through immersion- that is, speaking with others and reading as well with minimal translation. I learn Latin with the goal of reading texts like Virgil’s Aeneid or St. Thomas Aquinas’ Summa Theologiae in their original language. I also am learning how to read analytically as well. Finally, I am looking into the Christian Faith in hopes of understanding problems that we face in the world and to grow in character.
Though I currently have some skills and traits that have potential, such as attention to detail, curiosity, and a willingness to learn, I want to find out how I can bring them into new and different contexts. This is in addition to any other skills that I might go on to learn. I aim to find out how I can help others with both skills that I have and skills that I can learn.
And How Is Your Name Pronounced?
My name is pronounced “SHAWN-keeth”. (IPA: [ʃɑnkiθ])
It’s essentially a Gaelicization of my Chinese name.
